May has been a whirlwind of graduations (mine!) and weddings (friends!). A dear friend of mine recently got married at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, Maryland, which is about an hour and a half drive from Baltimore and DC. St. Michaels is known for its relaxed charm, quaint B&Bs, and old money (think Christopher Walken in Wedding Crashers). It is the perfect place for a weekend getaway. After a hectic spring of thesis research, I thoroughly enjoyed a low key weekend tooling around the shops and restaurants in St. Micheals.

No, your eyes are not playing tricks on you! There is an actual store in St. Michaels called the Preppy Redneck. It’s a preppy girl’s dream, brimming with adorable clothing, home goods, and accessories. You can even buy Preppy redneck Ts and hats. This store was the shopping highlight of my trip!
