The Official Preppy Handbook is considered the bible of all things preppy. First published in 1980, the handbook is a detailed instruction manual on how to be preppy. The witfully-written book covers important topics such as boarding schools, monogramming, and appropriate vacay spots.
The book is peppered with helpful tips such as “Always underdress…If you can dress for a different party (i.e. wear black tie to a cocktail party, or tennis clothes for lunch), so much the better.”
The Official Preppy Handbook is about to turn twenty, but its nuggets of preppy wisdom have never been fresher, and stayed tuned for the sequel, to be release this fall!
