Hi Preppy Girl,
I absolutely love your website, it is so cute and helpful! I need a nice tote to take to work/school every day, something that can be waterproof to survive northeast winters. I found a dark pink polyvinyl tote by Juicy Couture which is large enough and waterproof but it consists of jelly glitter. I have read some preppy girls buy Juicy but am not sure if it’s really preppy fare. What do you think? If not can you recommend some nice preppy totes that are not too expensive? Thanks!

Thanks for your email and sweet remarks. Did you wind up buying the Juicy tote bag? Finding a cute, affordable, waterproof bag can be so tough!
I like Dooney & Burke totes which come in a bunch of colors. For a truly unique tote, try searching Etsy for a handmade bag. I also recommend checking out the Kate Spade outlet store and Nordstrom Rack if you have one nearby. Over the years, I have acquired a couple Kate Spade baby bags because they make fantastic work totes. Many of the bags are waterproof and have plenty of room for your lunch, a water bottle, and all of your work stuff.
