Weeks of cloudy gray skies have taken their toll…And now with a wave of her magic wand, Spring saunters in her pink and green glory. It really is the preppiest of seasons. Along with the dreaded spring cleaning, (Mr. Ranger has already filled one vacuum bag from shedding) I have made a few extra Spring resolutions:
- Take time each day to appreciate Mother Nature
- Get my thesis topic approved!!!
- Stop worrying (or at least try)
- Clean out my closets
- Start my rooftop vegetable garden
- Now that the days are longer, fit in more time for exercise.
- Finally, write more blog posts!
So what are yours? ; )

After a lovely stay at the J.W. it was time to check into the Royal Resorts. Eventually the sun even came out of hiding, and I was able to spend some time relaxing on the beautiful beach.

Some much needed sun time

A perfect beach day
Meanwhile, back in Baltimore, Mr. Ranger decided it was time to hit the open road and run away. You could not imagine my panic, being a world away. Luckily, our dogsitter was able to find him. Relieved, we came here…to celebrate.

Apparently the Spanish translation of Hooters is "Oters"
Just kidding. Actually, at the recommendation of our dear friends and Cancun dinning experts, we ate outdoors at Salvios, an Italian restaurant. I had a tasty diner of a seafood antipasto appetizer, followed by a fillet of grouper in a decadent white wine sauce (who knew white white sauces could be decadent?), and a delicious chocolate gelato for dessert.

Check out the cool wicker lights on the patio at Salvios
Another wonderful trip to Cancun for the memory books. So how many days until Spring?

Did I mention that I love Cancun?

I am happy to report that Cancun was wonderful despite the rainy weather. Even though my vacation was short, it was well worth the trip; a much needed jolt to fight the February blahs.

I love Cancun.
For the first part of my trip, I was lucky enough to stay at the J.W. Marriott. Tucked away on a secluded floor, I really think the suite was bigger than my house.

After 3 hours of sleep to catch my flight, this bed was a dream come true

I could spend all day hanging out in the lovely bathroom...

if it wasn't for the heated infinity pool

Blue on Blue...I told you I spent all day in the pool
Between trips to the pool, I had a delicious dinner of oysters and grouper with pineapple salsa. Next stop, the Royal Resorts…

So the holidays are over and football is coming to a close…Now, what to do for some chilly fun? Not everyone is crazy as me and includes running as a winter sport (in case you didn’t see the streak of black and Ravens purple being blown around Baltimore this morning). For the sane, there are plenty of preppy sports that actually require the ice and snow. Just be sure to bundle up!
- Skiing – the ultimate preppy winter sport with great destinations such as Tahoe, Aspen, Breckenridge, and Jackson Hole to name a few, not to mention all of the great ski clothes.

Move Over Johnny Weir!
- Cross Country Skiing – if I lived in Alaska, I would cross-country ski everywhere
- Ice Skating – for the graceful preps
- Ice Hockey – for the tough preps
- Snowshoeing – like lacrosse sticks for your feet
- Tobogganing – great for cuddling up on snowy dates
…and never discount the ever popular snowball fight.
