Dear Preppy Girl,
My mother and father and I are going to Europe for 10 days over spring break. We’re going to Switzerland, Belgium, and France, and we’re going to do a lot of walking! It’s going to be fairly cold, like 40s and 30s every day. What are some clothes you can suggest to pack that are cute, preppy, and comfortable? Also what are some cute shoes that are good for walking? I don’t want to wear gross gym shoes. Thanks!

Dear Preppy Tourist,
Have a wonderful time in Europe! I am so jealous. I suggest dressing in layers. Bring clothes that you can easily mix and match. I recommend packing a pair of jeans (or two), corduroys, a couple of cardigans, 2 skirts for dressing up, 2 pairs of tights, a few white v neck long sleeve t-shirts, a couple of tanks or camis, socks, and a pair of gloves. I would also pack a couple of scarves, they are great for accessorizing and can dress up an otherwise bland outfit. Wear a waist-length coat that is wind and waterproof onto the plane. Northface has many great styles.
Ballet flats are pretty comfortable, lightweight, and can dress up a casual outfit. I have a really comfy pair by Born which are good for walking. Consider packing a great pair of boots with a low heel. A pair of boots and skinny jeans, paired with a cardi make a great combination, very “equestrian.” You could also change into a skirt and tights to dress your outfit up for dinner.

…And don’t forget to pack your sunglasses. Have a great trip!
